“In conversations I've had with educators and others on how to address far-right extremist thought in our communities, the contributions from members of Building Fearless Futures have been full of insight from on-the-ground work with youth in our communities."

-T. Elijah Hawkes, Director of School Leadership Programs, Upper Valley Educators Institute

“When our school community was in dialogue around a Confederate flag ban on campus, we reached out to Netdahe to help us have conversations with students who identified with the flag. His ability to relate to, talk with, and listen to students is a gift. His open, non-judgemental, and grounded approach made all our students feel seen, heard, and valued.”

-Meg Allison, Librarian, U32 School

“Building Fearless Futures is doing important work at the intersection of education and social transformation. They bring skills, knowledge, and personal experience that is uniquely suited to supporting the development of positive racial identity in youth from all types of backgrounds."

-Life Z. LeGeros, Professional Development Coordinator at the Tarrant Institute for Innovative Education, University of Vermont

“Building Fearless Futures has been an integral part of the development of equity policies and practices at GMTCC. Having a knowledgeable community partner that can provide expertise, offer resources, and provide our school and staff with ongoing feedback as we grow into the inclusive and equitable school community that we want to be has been invaluable. While there's plenty more work to be done, we're thankful for the folks at BFF who are willing to work with schools for positive change.”

-Erik Remmers, Director of Green Mountain Tech & Career Center

Wheelock Mountain Farm is a modest non-profit with a mission that includes supporting racial and social justice. One of the projects we are honored to support is Building Fearless Futures, a group of local community members who work with area schools to help transform racial conflict into mutual understanding. The mentors in Building Fearless Futures perform this service with the love, compassion and determination that are required to create the real connections and understandings which are necessary to help engender harmony and mutual respect in our schools and communities.

We are in challenging times. Surely our brightest beacon of hope lies in the hands and hearts of our children and young people. They require no less and no more than the opportunity to explore and learn from the successes and mistakes of our past and present. There are few gifts we can give them more important than the understanding that we are all of us on this planet one family, all capable of and deserving great love and compassion.

-Robin Cappuccino, Wheelock Mountain Farm
